Choose Day 1, 2 or 3 and tap the SPC map.
The category applies to the selected point; it is not a warning or a prediction that a storm will occur.
Choose an outlook, then tap a location to inspect its risk and storm environment.
Open Storm explorer to load the latest SPC outlook.
Probabilities describe an event within 25 miles of a point during the outlook window. Conditional intensity is a separate product, not an event probability. Day 3 publishes combined severe probability; separate tornado, hail, and wind probabilities are not issued for Day 3.

Lift parcels through the full GFS temperature, moisture and wind profile to calculate Supercell Composite, fixed/effective Significant Tornado Parameter, SHIP, Most-unstable CAPE, Mixed-layer CAPE/CIN, Downdraft CAPE and 0–3 km CAPE. Uses a Bunkers right-moving storm and documented parcel/layer definitions. These indices are not event probabilities or official SPC analysis values.

Soundings calculate automatically above for model-derived SCP, tornado and hail composites. These official SPC links show current analyses for comparison; they are not forecasts for the selected future Day 2 or Day 3 outlook. Additional parameters not computed here remain available through the official links.
Bulk shear is the magnitude of the wind-vector difference between 10 m and winds interpolated to 1, 3 or 6 km above model terrain. Pressure levels below terrain are excluded. 10 m winds approximate the bottom of the layer; these are not effective bulk shear. Lapse rates use pressure-level temperature differences divided by geopotential height differences. LCL is a surface approximation: 125 × (temperature − dew point), in metres AGL. Total Totals = T850 + Td850 − 2 × T500. K Index = T850 − T500 + Td850 − (T700 − Td700). Pressure-level dew point is derived from RH using the Magnus formula. Missing fields remain gaps; no values are inferred from missing data. CAPE parcel choice follows the upstream feed and is not labelled SBCAPE/MLCAPE/MUCAPE. Lifted Index is a temperature difference. Freezing level is MSL; cloud-base estimate is AGL.
Storms depend on initiation, storm mode, timing, and other ingredients. Strong ingredients alone do not establish a tornado or hail probability. Only SPC outlook layers display official severe-weather probabilities.

Esri satellite imagery with labels is not live. Radar is displayed at its available native resolution, so zooming in does not add radar detail. Empty tiles do not establish that a location is free of precipitation. Follow official NWS warnings.

Move your mouse or slide a finger across each graph to see its value, date and time. Every graph shows forecast extremes and when they occur.
The model selector changes point cards, impact guidance and graphs. The radar selector independently controls observed radar or the HRRR precipitation-type map. NWS Blended is NOAA National Blend of Models guidance, not the official local NWS forecast.
Snowfall is the sum of forecast hourly new snowfall, not snow on the ground. Snow depth is the model’s snow-on-ground field and may include existing snow. Snow amounts follow the provider’s snow-to-liquid assumptions. Missing hours are never treated as zero; short HRRR coverage is labelled partial. Cards and graphs cover the next 72 complete hourly intervals from the current UTC hour.
Wind chill uses the NWS formula only at temperatures ≤50°F and sustained wind >3 mph (4.8 km/h); it is unavailable outside that range. Freezing level is above mean sea level, not above ground. HRRR provides that field. For EURO and Canadian it is estimated from the lowest above-ground warm-to-cold 32°F crossing in the selected model’s surface/pressure-level profile; coarse profiles may miss shallow layers. No crossing gives a gap. NBM snow depth and freezing level are unavailable in this feed.
Precipitation chance is NBM for HRRR/NBM, ECMWF ensemble for EURO and GEPS ensemble for Canadian. These probabilities are supplied by Open-Meteo and can span more hours than the deterministic model. Ice guidance uses explicit freezing-rain/freezing-drizzle weather codes, or NBM freezing-rain/ice-pellet probabilities ≥20%. Subfreezing rain alone does not establish freezing rain. Impact text describes possible effects and is not official NWS impact categorization or an ice-accumulation forecast.
Times use the selected location’s timezone. Hourly data may be interpolated by the provider. Model initialization is not supplied by this endpoint; retrieval time is shown instead. HRRR / NBM ↗ · EURO ↗ · Canadian ↗ · NWS wind chill ↗ · Open-Meteo terms & attribution ↗
